Healthcare
Healthcare is a huge topic. Previous reports have looked at issues within the NHS workforce and its ability to accommodate and support its ethnic workforce, the ability of healthcare systems around the globe to adequately support women who need care, and the future of mental health care.

The topic has been explored through articles focused on the pandemic, and editorials which explore wellness culture and its downfalls.​
Foreign Affairs
Foreign affairs covers a multitude of issues. Within this policy area Warwick Think Tank reports have explored the limits of the United Nations Security Council, intervention policy and its implications, and the race to exercise control over the Arctic circle. ​​​
Foreign affairs has been explored in a range of student articles focused on the invasion of Ukraine, and issues like the governance crisis in Haiti.
Technology
Technology is at the forefront of many of the current policy discussions today. At Warwick Think Tank we have explored this sector through research on the manufacture of 'SOC's' in Taiwan, the risks in the development of future technologies such as AI, and whether new technology reduces or extends inequality in society.

Economy &
Finance
Another policy area under constant discussion is the economy and finance. This area offers many avenues to explore policy and current developments. Research by Warwick Think Tank has focused on trade wars and the tariffs central to them, micro-finance, and the monetary decisions that influence the UK economy.

The topic has been explored through articles focused on investment zones championed by the Truss budget, doughnut economics, and the role of economic sanctions in the Ukraine war.
Justice &
Human Rights
This area gives students the ability to explore numerous policy ideas and solutions that are central to our lives, rights and justice. Student research has focused on rethinking what the justice system should be doing for those who are non-violent offenders, making better decisions for Native American's who have been locked out of the decision-making process, and ways to combat trafficking in sex and human organs.

The topic has been explored through articles including ones which focus on the need to shift away from the death penalty.
Environment
Another critical area is energy and environment. This area gives students the chance to explore policy that will have a lasting impact on society. Previous reports have covered the ability OPEC has to exploit its power, addressing resource exploitation, and climate changes ability to exacerbate inequality.

The topic has been explored through articles on the transition to net zero, fast fashion and its impact, and the US's role as a supposed climate leader.
Education
Education is a critical area. Previous research reports have covered the role of technology in the classroom, better support for SEND schools, along with Chinese censorship on university campuses.

The topic has also been explored through articles on the role of exams in UK schools, and the battles over critical race theory in classrooms.
Arts & Culture
A newer addition to the policy areas at Warwick Think Tank, arts and culture explores a range of important topics and policy issues facing the UK and world. Research has focused on LGBTQ policies in the West, and decolonizing visual arts and knowledge.

Articles
Read student articles which explore a range of topics that cover policy, politics and culture. Written by students, our Warwick Think Tank articles offer unique perspectives, and the ability for students to voice their opinions and explore the policy areas. Our students produce a range of article formats, including regular articles, short form 'quicktakes' and longer editorial pieces. Each allowing you to explore policy and current issues at different depths. so if you have 2 minutes, or longer, there's an article to discover.
Events
We also host events which focus on policy, and the issues and challenges facing the country and wider world. Our events feature policy experts, academics and other guest speakers, bringing you the best of policy, right on campus. Past events have features members of parliament, advisors to US presidential campaigns, business leaders, activists and more.
