Warwick Think Tank

Speaker - Academic - Collaborative

A Warwick Think Tank Event

Events are the heart of what we do at Warwick Think Tank - showcasing and inviting everyone to explore policy issues facing both the UK and the globe today. Our weekly events hosted through a series of on campus and online forums allow some of the best policy experts to come and give talks and take questions from students. The events fit into three main categories to give as much appeal to students as possible: Speaker, Academic and Collaborative. Find out more about the original weekly events our society runs below.

Leading speakers

Throughout the academic terms we invite as many leading speakers in unique policy areas to come and speak to students at our speaker events. Over the course of our most recent terms we have invited Keith Magee - Obamas former spiritual adviser, Labour shadow cabinet member Chi Onwurah, and Candidate for Idaho US Senate Haneefah Khaaliq. Each guest speaker provides a wealth of insight into our policy sectors such as education, human rights, and tech and innovation. These high profile speakers offer special insights that are invaluable to those interested in politics and policy.

Unique
viewpoints

Our speakers herald from a wide range of backgrounds and political views. This allows student members to challenge their own policy preferences and academic views of our guests through dedicated Q and A sessions at the end of each event. We aim to ensure these talks factor for the range of political views our membership hold - we cater to everyone regardless of political views.
